Our Services
Children's speech pathology addresses speech, language and communication difficulties in children from infancy through adolescence. Our speech pathologist, Laura, uses a client centred approach, choosing play based or client interests to support therapy, whilst working closely with parents or caregivers to support development at home. We also offer early intervention services for infants and toddlers, helping address any delays or difficulties in communication early on.
Adolescent speech pathology focuses on supporting young people aged 12-18 years old in developing effective communication skills. We work closely with adolescents to address challenges such as difficulty pronouncing certain sounds, stuttering and social communication difficulties. Our approach is tailored and collaborative, involving the adolescent and their parents or caregivers in the therapy process for optimal results.
Adult speech pathology focuses on diagnosing and treating communication and swallowing disorders in adults. Our process involves a comprehensive assessment to identify any issues in speech, language, voice, fluency and the cognitive aspects of communication. We then provide a functional approach to treatment, including personalised therapy plans, the use of technology and devices, and strategies to facilitate effective communication.
Build Your Confidence
Speech is more than just a method of communication; it's a tool that shapes our interactions, relationships and understanding of the world. The ability to express thoughts, desires and emotions through the spoken word is fundamental to human experience. But unfortunately for some, speaking clearly and effectively doesn't always come naturally. Whether it's a child struggling to articulate certain sounds or an adult with an uncontrollable stutter, speech difficulties can significantly impact daily life.
At Exploring Speech, we believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to communicate confidently and successfully. That's why we offer tailored speech pathology services for both children, adolescents and adults throughout Tweed Heads and beyond. Our speech pathologist, Laura, works closely with clients to identify their specific communication challenges and develop personalised plans to help them achieve their full potential.
